Can you post some pics of the 70 stepside? Looks like the first C10 that I had. That would be weird if it was.

Edit: Nevermind, saw a better pic in your profile. Definitely not the same truck. Nice find on the 68 though.

O.k, you got me guys...I guess I was trying to convince myself I was finished. Sort of like telling yourself your not going to play another hand of poker after just winning big.
I guess this only really covers the chevy short steps in 2wd (sort of). Now there are fleet sides, gmc, long bed, short bed, small window, big window....

Boy, this could really get to where I have one for every day of the week

I have to agree, buy a Lotto ticket, that deal is over the top, and that truck looks to have a ton of potential. Great score.

Re: You won't believe this C-list story...I've completed the collection

that was a Smoking deal. But i think i got one that even tops that This guy on CL had it in there for over 1 year Back 2008.He had it in there for 1000.00.I ask my nabor to go with me to go look at it.It was in Calif In Sanberdino Off of Baseline is it the 15 or the 30 freeway well I called the guy and ask if the truck was still there he said ya so me and my nabor went to take a look.I took my roller creeper with me.I do not buy any truck with cancer in the floor I'm not a body man.well i get down there and we go and look at the truck. Its a 1971 Cheyenne C10 Jet black with rear cargo lite,AC power steering power brake poise rear end side trim.

I roll under the truck and man its like its been not abuse or driven very much and NO cancer at all.The guy tells me the passenger side door dose not open Its stuck. He tells me his grand father was the first owner of it and he gave it to his grand son before he died.Well the grand son tryed to get it running but couldn't.He thought it was the disturber so he went out and bought a used one and could or did not know how to install it.So he just gave up and bought a Honda the truck sat on the side yard for 2 years .That when they listed it for $1000.00.

they had 3 people come and look at it one told him he only give them 400.00 for it and the guy said not way.the truck sat for 3 more months then i called and i went to look at it.with in 5 mins i told him I buy it for the asking price but i had to wait 20 days until i got paid.I told the guy if some one else come and wanted to pay the 1000.00 let it go.

the guy said he never had anyone say that to him or make that kinda deal I told him i was willing to to pay his price but he had to wait 20 days he said ok I left a deposit of 100.00.

well the bad things happen to me i got really bad sick and i could not go buy the truck i called him and left a message and told him to keep the 200 do to i could not fulfill my part of the bargain.and i chopped up that one as a lose.

1 year later i see the same truck for sale for $500.00.I call my nabor and tell him that the truck has re-surfeited and the guy only wants 500.00.My nabor got his money to gather and we went down to look at it.The guy came out did not recognized me and my nabor.WE talk to him and said we wanted to buy the truck he stated it was for sell at 700.00 I told him the add said 500 and he checked with his wife and yes it was 500.00.So my nabor drop 500 down got pink slip. But we had to leave it for 1 week.To line up a car trailer during that week.My nabor needed money for rent and ask if i wanted the truck and he sell it to me for the 500.00.I got it for him and paid that day 3 days before we where going to pick it up.

While i was there with the car trailer his wife came out and ask if i want something to drink i said yes as we sat and talked I had to confess.I told him a year earlier i was suppose to buy this truck from you and left you a deposit.then he said Ya that's where i remember you from.I told him i left a message he told me that he never got it.Long story short he took the truck off CL.And waited But i never came back. well i got it home and found out it has a Almost new Crate motor in it with Brass freeze plugs in it and the GM crate Black Pain job that they paint the blocks it's a Runner no smoke no nothing

Re: You won't believe this C-list story...I've completed the collection

Man, This never happens to me. 2 scores now in as many weekends...
Today I scored a '72 frame (lwb) from c-list (no title).

This will get me the 5-lug and front disc upgrades for the '68 swb from last weekends c-list score.

It has a solid set of trailing arms, ps pump & box, driveshaft & rallies on it too. I'll strip the frame before taking it for scrap to get back a few $
