6.0l LQ4 to old school tranny
I want to make sure I have this right:
2004 LQ4(not sure what trans was behind it, I forgot to ask) I am posting a pic so that maybe it will help with what I need to know: I need to adapt my th350 to the 6.0 If it did in fact come with a 4l80e then I should be good as far as spacer and bolts correct? If not then I need to get the spacer and bolts correct? Then I need the flat flexplate and drill holes for the th350 TC? When I go to mark the holes in order to drill new ones, does it matter where on the flexpalte they are drilled? Should there be a certain distance from the factory holes?

For the VSS will this one work with the stock computer? I am going to run Autometer procomp gauges and this is the recommended one for GM.

Need to determine what flexplate is on the motor. if it has a spacer already then you will just have to drill holes for the TC. If it doesnt have a spacer then you will want a crank spacer.
link to just the spacer pictured above If you want all new stuff I ship these out: TCI Flexplate and spacer

Re: 6.0l LQ4 to old school tranny
How much for that kit? I am guessing it is already drilled for th350 pattern.

Re: 6.0l LQ4 to old school tranny
We use them on TH350/400s and I dont see why they would not work with a 700R4, the bolt pattern for the TC is the same.

GM PART # 12621399 $44.42 That has the flexplate, spacer, and bolts. All you will have to do is do a little grinding with a die grinder on the new flexplate to match you converter. The bolt holes are close but you have to open them up a little. Working fine on my LQ9/th400 and you won't beat the price!!! You can see here what I am talking about. How much is shipping from there? LOL
If you want that set up let me know, I will see if I can ship it to you cheaper than GMPD.

Re: 6.0l LQ4 to old school tranny
My engine came off of a 4L80 so the flexplate had the correct adapter already there so all I had to do is elongate the converter holes to mount the 700 to it.

Re: 6.0l LQ4 to old school tranny
I was wrong, You do have to open up the holes a little, I dont know why GM would change that on the 4L80E from the early ones.

Re: 6.0l LQ4 to old school tranny
That was a flexplate I had laying around just to see how far the holes were off. I used the one in the kit. The one in the pic will work as it was a dished plate as well but I did not have the spacer.
