53 GMC Chassis Engineering front end install with 8.8 explorer rear end

Here is the build on my 53 gmc with the chassis engineering bolt on mustang II front end and ford 8.8 explorer rear end. Engine is a 96 to 2000 crate 350 vortec roller motor and 700R4. Lokar tall nostalgia shifter and thunderbird power rack. I used 275/60/15 rear comp t/a and 225/70/15 fronts. 7 inch rims front, and 8 inchers on back..plenty of room to go larger on rear later with the 59 1/2 width of the ford rear end. It is driving now but still have to finish the interior and lots of odds and ends.

Nice build. What rear springs/mounts did you use? Who did your exhaust manifolds?

Re: 53 GMC Chassis Engineering front end install with 8.8 explorer rear end

The springs and front and rear mounts are the stock 94 ford explorer..it lowered it about 4 inches..I just boxed the rear and welded a bushing for the bolt with a grease zert...here is link for the power coating...about $80.00 and took about 3 weeks. Thanks..Tim

My running boards are 9 inches to ground in front and 10 inches in the rear...vintage air to come...
