idle set
what should my idle be in park and it drive?? right now in park its 700 and its drop down to 400 in drive. i have a 327 sbc and 350t. i cant finger out why it does this.

the tac might be a bit off. i would try another tac first. if they are close the small blocks should idle 800+ and 650 in drive. timing, cams, carb tuning all play into the rpm setings

Mine idles around 750 to 800 in park, and drops doew to 550 or 600 in drive. 350 with a TH350. But mine has a snotty cam and a stall converter.

Thats a sure sign of not enough converter. A huge drop from park to drive and lurching at stop lights etc is a dead giveaway that the converter doesnt match the cam. What is the duration @.050 on the cam

Doesn't lurch into gear at all... and pulls away smooth at stop lights. 2,800 RPM stall
Lunati 292 Bracketmaster II, 230 @ .050... I might be cheating a bit and have the idle turned down some to make it lope a little more. Just to play around... Gary
