Brake Conversion please confirm the plan
Hey guys,
So the truck is a 70 C-10 long box and what I'm looking to do is lower it and convert to front disc and 5 lug all the way around and what I'm looking for is a confirmation on the parts needed for the disc/lug part. I bought lowering spindles from CPP for the 70 (for original style ball joint) and have welded slugs in the axle holes to re drill. The plan is to get 5 bolt rotors from the parts store for a 72 along with 5 lug rear drums for a 72. IS THIS CORRECT? Will the 72 rotors fit the spindle? Along with the 72 5 lug drums being good to go with the 70 drum brakes? Will stock 72 calipers fit the CPP spindles? I plan on then getting the proportional valve from a 72 along with brake master and booster. Also is a 5" bolt circle the way to go? Thanks guys for any help. Regards Lucas |

Re: Brake Conversion please confirm the plan
I would check out this FAQ if you haven't already. It has a lot of info for this swap.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=444815 You should probably check with CPP about the spindle. You may need to change your ball joints and tie rod arms. Also, to convert to 5 lugs in the rear you will need to convert the axles to 5 lug. A few ways to accomplish this are getting a complete donor rear end from 71-72, aftermarket 5 lug conversion axles or redrilling your axles for 5 lug Dan
