I didn't think they'd be different. I'm scouring the build threads for a 64 now.

2WD (thanks to Nachodog)

that's all I could find that was 1964 specific. If that doesnt work I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Unfortunately no. I gave the rearend away to the guy that did the welding on my frame when I bagged mine. I'll try and find out if he still has them.

this one is haywire unless those are brackets welded to the bottom of the axle hsg. would have been cleaner if he had taken the spring perches off the top then he could have just welded them back on the bottom. hope that he has a facility for the centre bolt. difficult to see. what are you trying to accomplish?

Top perches are gone now, bottom brackets welded, this is temporary any way. I'm stepping up to a 4 link pretty soon. Have had had no problems with it.

I have seen where people leave things like that. it can be taken out of context when they are inserted in a thread like that. glad that you were not finished there. I was asking what the original poster was trying to accomplish

Re: gmc leaf springs

the way my leaf springs are mounted is like the newer leaf spring trucks are done. i ordered new u-bolts for my truck and they came square on top to be mounted over the top of the springs. what i need is to see what the bottom plate looks like that th u-bolts mount to. heres pictures of how my rear end is mounted now. thanks

here is what you should have. look like someone has snuck in a car rear end and bastardized the setup by putting all the wrong crap in there. the plates are wrong as the ubolts should be in tight to the springs. the hole is to large for the centre bolt. the spring perches should have been removed from the axle hsng

By rondavid at 2011-04-24
the top of your springs should be square as they form over the top of your spring and connect into the brkts shown mounted under the axle
