Can someone tell me if this gas cap is for a 69-70 or a 71-72. I'm thinking aout buying it if its for a 69-70. Thanks.

Looks like it fits a 72 burb so I'm guessing it's 71-72 then?

I am not sure .... he says its for a 67-72 so I am have to check it out to see what it actually fits but its already at $42 ...

Well, we all know it can't be for 67-72 since they used different for different years...noticed the card on it was written for cst's....should fit, right

small or big block is insignificant. the year of the truck/tank will determine the style of cap (vented or non vented) i suspect the seller threw in "396" cause it makes the part sound better.Posted via Mobile Device

I would agree...my guess thier thought was--if the term "396" was used with the cap--they were hoping that the cap would get a higher selling price.

That was my initial question...the ad was as follows:

The 70 is different than the 71-72 so I wanted to verify which model yr truck it fit-70 or 71-72. After I found out it was for a 71-72 I emailed the seller on ebay and he said thanks but never changed his heading. This is a good example why it is good to ask questions first.
VA72C10 was interested in the cap and I was wondering if he was the ebay winner?

Agree with leddzepp, I bought one of these off ebay about 6 months ago, NOS in original GM packaging. It's identical to the old cap on my 72.

nah....it looked too scuffed up for me for the price (I figured it would go higher if I bid also) and I don't like buying from ebay people who misrepresent their stuff and don't edit even after being corrected....worries me about how the deal will go....
