Yes very cool. 73-87 Halfton's were available with 6 lug wheels, but only for 4x4's. I know what you meant though..

You could also get a 2wd 2500 with 6 lugs around 1992, 93 or so..

I find that there's just as much for 8 lug as there is for 6 when I'm surfing Kijiji. There seems to be alot of guys selling brand new take offs from their new 2500/3500 GM's since the factory 17's, 18's and 20's aren't good enough for someone who just spent 80k on a truck..

Ughh. The 5x5 lugs are making me crazy!!! All of those look really good and are pretty cheap on CL. I can't find anything below $700 just for wheels.

Re: 73-87 OEM Wheel Swaps

I posted this the other day but it fits this thread and might help someone. I just put H2 rims and 285/70-17 tires on my 82 crew cab. There are pictures in my build thread and here's a video I put together. Skip to the last third to see the new and old lug nuts compared.

Re: 73-87 OEM Wheel Swaps

Does anybody know if I'll have any issues using NBS 8 lug Denali HD 18" wheels on my 2wd squarebody crewcab? I'm sure the bolt pattern is the same, just thinking like wrong size hub or weird back spacing or something..

Re: 73-87 OEM Wheel Swaps

It sounds like you have already checked it out but just in case....Chevy did change the bolt pattern on 2011 and up trucks to 8 on 180mm instead of the old 8 on 6.5 on the older trucks.

Re: 73-87 OEM Wheel Swaps

Here's my CC with a less common style of H2's. The rubbing on the drag link on right turns is terrible. It needs a lift ASAP. Anyone else have that issue? Is there a work around aside from a lift?

Re: 73-87 OEM Wheel Swaps

I will have to check but I don't think mine are rubbing there. I'm thinking you can adjust the steering stops on the Dana 60 to prevent it but that's just off the top of my head without looking at mine.

Re: 73-87 OEM Wheel Swaps

I have 08 gmc wheels on my crewcab with 315's and they rub on the drag link also. I did extend the steering stop as a temporary fix and it is working great so far. The only bad part about that is it makes the turning radius even bigger than it already is.
