Serpentine belt
Got a question(s). I purchased a NOS GM serpentine belt set up (part# 12497698) with the R4 A/C unit (great deal for $250). Has anyone put this in? Do I need to buy all new hoses and is the wiring different? I have heard bad things about this type A/C compressor but want to us it.
I also have a stock posi unit for the 12-bolt. Can these units handle 360 HP (ZZ4 engine). Anything I should do to make it stronger during the rebuild? Thanks Bob

Re: Serpentine belt
i dont know about the belt system but i have personally had the stock posi in my 12 bolt in a lifted up 87 with 35s and have been pretty rough on it and have not had a bit of problems. my buddy has 12 bolt stock posi with 35s and has 3.73 gears and has a bad problem with doing burn outs on pavement with it. he has broken the ring and pinion playing before, but still runs the stock posi. o and his truck has plenty of hp, no way of knowing exactly how much though. good luck.

Re: Serpentine belt
Here is what I did, still need to put in pics, truck is getting AC finished, then pics. I would go get the sanden compressor, nothing but bad stuff I have heard about the R4 compressor.
I will add all the AC parts to the list once I get it back. Smitty http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=468729
