How many LSx's have you owned?

Simple question, list them out!


I've had 8 of them. The worst problem I've had from the engine in any of them was a check engine light on the 98 T/A that was on when I bought it. I changed the AIR check valves in the exhaust manifold and that was it (Tranny was starting to go too....but that's not the engines fault....or maybe it is )

The Suburban has the most miles of any of them...currently at 134k and still going strong. I sold the Corvette with ~103k on it and the 98 T/A with ~105k it.

Needless to say, I'm a big fan of these engines.

Another dozen at least between my father, father-in-law and brother-in-law.

Never anything worse than an oil sending unit drip, water pump leak, and an intake gasket between the bunch.

I too have had 8, and I've never owned a vehicle newer than 1992! All swaps, well 5 anyway, I have 2 5.3's and 1 ls1 sitting in the garage patiently waiting to be put into something.

Others are,
1971 Nova with"'98. Ls1, car has 380,000 miles on it, swap has about 130,00 and still going.
1933 Ford 4 door street rod with 2001 ls1, has 54,000 miles on it, I drive this almost daily in the summer
1984 Ford LTD wagon with 2002 5.3, my Family Truckster replica,
1971 Chevy Custom Deluxe shortbed, with 2007 5.3, current project.
1972 Cheyenne Super shortbed with 2003 6.0 4l80e, sold last year.

Four swaps.
(1)I did a 5.3 4l60 in my 71 truck a few years ago. Had some piston slap when cold, I tried very hard to blow it up to justify installing my 6.0. Never could hurt it.
(2) The 6.0 in same truck.
(3) LS1 from 04 GTO with 6 speed in a 91 ppv. Bone stock only headers and k&n dynoed 347 hp.
(4) ls1 from 01 trans am in a 71 firebird
BTW once installed never had to turn a wrench on any of these. Only work I do to them is oil changes every 5k or upgrades here and there.

i have one, does it count if it was my grandparents truck?? im sayin yeah cause i drove it for about 6 months when my dodge/cummins was getting a new front axle and transfer case.

they also had a 5.7l 92 buick roadmaster dont think it was an ls but for that car being a "grandpa car" it was a screamer!!! had a factory posi out back it would roast the tires right off the wire wheels!!! lol
