depending on what your mileage reads it may take well more than a few hours.
I planned on doing this, and I calc'd it out.. at 60mph it was going to take several days.. I figure the speedo would crap out before it got there or something, so I never bothered... its easy to calc, check it out mike |

Take it to a gauge repair shop, they will be able to "reset" it for you. I am not sure of the legalities of it though, but they can tell you.

It not illegal to reset your odometer. It IS illegal to misrepresent the mileage. You can have a speedometer shop reset it for you. Look on Ebay. There are guys selling dashes on there that reset them when they rebuild them. Maybe they can help ya out...

if you do the reset youll probably have to go to a TMU title and that may affect the value of the vehicle

Is there a way you can hook up two odomotors? Hide the original and keep it rolling and display the new one that starts at 0 in the dash.

okay, i had the same deal w/ my odometer... got the same legal arguments, but hey, i'm doing a full restoration.... its going to be a new truck!!
here's the gig... take out the odometer unit from your gauge cluster... remove it from the speedo face... with the unit in your hand, remove the white clip on the bottom of the digits... there will be another clip on the end of the shaft that holds the digits together, remove it and PRESTO, the digit spool is in your hands... pull the discs apart, just enough to slide the digits to zeros, and push the spool back together... install and enjoy! if you can't get it, ship it, i'd take care of it :-) |

you do it for YOU when it is for YOU. All you have to do if you sell it is register it as TMU . (true Mileage Unknown) it Seems to be a trick that all the used car places are doing now to anything that has over 150K on it .

Here vehicles are exempt when over a certain age.All my titles say exempt or N/A i wouldnt worry about it,aslong as you dont try to sell it as a original low mile.
