Rear End Swap Questions

I have an 86 K10. Broke a tooth off the pinion gear in my 10 bolt. I can't find a axle with same gear ratio as my front and 6 lug locally. I have found a lot of 5 lugs. Question is, if I buy a 5 lug 10 bolt can I change it over to 6 lug using my parts off my rear end? If it is possible, do I have to set up the rear end to do it? I am not comfortable setting up the backlash and all it takes to assemble the differential. Thanks in advance

Cool Re: Rear End Swap Questions

you should be able to take the 6 bolt axles out and put them in the other axle housing. so just swap axle shafts
