The interior of my 74 only has carpet on the floor without anything on the back. The back and top are just plain metal.

Re: carpet question

My '75 Gentleman Jim has the carpet go half way up the back wall, to where the rear window is.

Yeah, I got what you meant. It all depends on what year and options as far as I am aware. As I said, my 74 only has a carpet on the bottom but not going up the back and it does not have anything for a headliner. I've seen others like it but also some that go up like you said. But I've also seen 70s with or without headliners sooo yeah.

Re: carpet question

I am pretty sure it has to do with the bucket seats. The truck I pulled a set out of was a 1 ton work truck, and the carpet went up the back wall there, too.

Re: carpet question

The carpet on the rear cab wall was definitely part of the bucket seat option;it was folded over and mounted with hidden screws and brass grommets in the carpet.

The rear carpet is a good way to id a factory bucket seat truck as few owners doing a seat swap take the time to save all the small parts to attach carpet.

When you ordered a base model (custom deluxe, scottsdale) with buckets you got an upgrade from rubber floormat to full carpet .....

except I think some of the military stuff got buckets but no consol or carpet

Re: carpet question

My Custom Deluxe came with the truck and I think the keys may have been a option, LOL. I think this may be an area where Velcro would come in Slick

Re: carpet question

Jonboy has it right. My 78 came with factory buckets and it has the carpet all across the back, with the hidden grommets and welting across the joints. It may have been available without it too, just don't know about that.

Re: carpet question

Yeah it's buckets. I can tell you it's not because of model because my Silverado just had the cardboard cover over the metal.
