Exhaust options
My truck is going for a custom exhaust on MOnday and I was trying to come up some cool ideas for it. Its going to be true duals with flowmaster 40 series mufflers and no cats, dumped before the rear tires. Im proboly going to have them make it 2 1/2. How much will I gain with an H pipe on it and will dual 2 1/2 be good for a tbi engine?
Some pics of exhausts that exit in front of the back tires would be great to, I have an idea of im going with but I want to make sure thats definatly the way I want it.

Re: Exhaust options
why go H-pipe? x-pipe has a greater effect on performance and sound

Re: Exhaust options
H would probobly be cheaper and easier for them, but if it wont be that much more I will probobly go with an x pipe.

Re: Exhaust options
I would check, I would imagine an H-pipe is more of a pain actually

Re: Exhaust options
I suck at doing exhausts so I wouldnt know, thats why its goin to a shop. I will see which one would work best with my price range for what they want for it. They gave me a quote of 200-300 to do the exhaust from the headers back if I get the mufflers, which I cant complain about for the exhaust bein whatever I want it to be.
Do you think 2 1/2 will give it enough back pressure? I know almost every true dual exhaust kit for these trucks is only 2 1/4, but I want somethin bigger as long it wont hurt anything and I already have the mufflers for 2 1/2.

Re: Exhaust options
I def will put up pics and vieos of it. I hacked up my old exhaust today and got it hooked up, sort of. It didnt sound that good, but there also wasnt anything after the mufflers and I have different pipes on each side. The drivers side only had a straight 2 1/2 pipe into the muffler and the passenger side had the old part of the exhaust from the drivers side where the y pipe connected over. The drivers side didnt last very long. I stried spinnin the tires a little, and did and then I heard rattle rattle clunk BAAAAAAAA. It didnt have any clamps, just hammered together lol so I wasnt to surprised it happened. Im hoping when the do it right it will make it sound better, it did last time I tried this.

Re: Exhaust options
Just got the truck back today, it sounds awsome. I couldnt get an x pipe or h pipe put on because they didnt have time make it, and I dont see where there would have been room for it anyway. Tomarow I will post some pics of it. I just need to get nice shiney tips for it.
