all you need to do a flip & notch is some tools, a drill & cut off wheel..

Re: 1984 GMC Sierra aka Bailey Blue II

I know, Ive helped install a few in the pass but I need a helping hand. I work out of a small garage and dont have a engine lift to raise my bed by myself.

It would be nice to have some one with experience helping me so i can knock the whole thing out in a afternoon....or just pay a small shop to knock it out and i can work on other things on the list.

Cool project, The truck looks way better with the solid silver.

As far as doing the flip kit and notch, you do not have to remove your bed. It is easier, but you don't need to do it. I did my notch and flip on my truck with out taking the bed off in about 3 hours. The part of the notch that goes on top of the frame is a tad tight against the bed but I beat it in using a rubber mallet.

So I had these (Eagle 227's) in the garage on another car and thought i would see what they look like on the truck......Not to bad...gives it a pro touring look. Saving for some billets in the future. Oh and this is my sons first pic with daddy's truck... What do you guy's think?

Re: 1984 GMC Sierra aka Bailey Blue II

It's done, i finally ordered my new wheels. I ordered 22" Racelines Burst 5 from Billet inc. I wanted to make sure the backspacing was correct on the wheels i ordered so my buddy let me try his on.

He is running a 20/22" setup with 4.25 rear backspacing and 4.5 in the front. The fronts fit nicely with a 4.5-5 inch drop with his backspacing. The tire is 245x35x20... if you are going to only static drop the front this will work perfect giving you the bigger front lip on the wheel

The rear being that its 4.25 backspacing with a stock axle to too close for my comfort, only giving .25 of a inch from the fender on both sides being that your rear axle is perfectly centered which never happens. with the rear of my truck being a 6.75 inch drop the perfect backspacing would be 4.75-5 backspacing (axle centered of course) with no rubbing. rear tires are 295x30x22 here is a picture of his wheels on my truck.

I cant wait untill mine come in.
