66 C10 Disc brake booster question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a 66 C10 with stock rear drums and 72 spindles/rotors/calipers up front. I was going to install a brake booster/master cylinder kit from a 72 C-10. There are about $115 online, this should work instead of buying a pricey CCP kit. I saw an mounting adapter bracket but he says this isnt needed that the firewall can be modified.

Contact Captn Fab, get his mount and go to a wrecking yard and pull one off a 73-87 1/2ton truck, make sure the fluid looks good before you do and it is generally clean/serviceable. You will be out probably less than $150.00

Whether you buy a '71-'72 booster or the CPP booster/master combo, you will have to drill some holes to mount them to your truck. The booster bracket that I sell is a direct bolt on to the firewall. Then you bolt on one of the compatable boosters listed in the for sale thread, seen in the link below \/ \/ \/

ok thanks, I am going to buy the 72 booster and see how it lines up, then I will order your bracket. I have chopped the frame, cut the small back window, shortened the long bed, so I might as well drill a hole in the fire wall!

Very nice product for a great price.

I used a 1977 C20 power booster from the Local "pick-in-pull" with a 1967 Dual master.....
it bolted in with NO DRILLING. had it done in about an hour. plus bleeding the system
Total cost...$52.00

thanks, I am sticking with the 72, since my front brakes are from that and the rear drums where the same. I want to keep it simple, I have 66 truck, 72 suspension, 91 350/700r4 drivetrain. Should make it easier for buying parts in the future.
