Re: 88 Crew cab dually
I decided on doing the porterbuilt arms narrowed but $1300 is a little more than I can spend right now (if it still snowed in colorado it would be a different story ) so had a friend of mine cup my lca's for now. hopefully I can order the porterbuilt stuff next month. Still need to clean these up paint them and put some new ball joints in.
I also got a new 88-91 gmc grill, found some of the headlight stuff I needed so I can start the front end swap this weekend. I finally got the stuff I need to get my blazer rolling so I can finally list it for sale. Just need to put some color on it and decide what I'm going to ask for it.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
Got the arms put on last weekend and now it lays on the control arms, still need to pull a leaf out of the back, maybe add a 1" block to get the rear to hit the notch.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
Nice Adam!
So basically- that's as low as you can go with a stock frame and crossmember? What are you running for the rear notch?

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
Thanks guys
Apparently most one tons will lay frame but some will hit the arms first, lucky me, my arms hit first I'm using a bolt in western chassis notch which was plenty tall enough to get the diff to hit the bed. I didn't want to but I ended up cutting a hole to clear the pumpkin, sticks through about 2-3"

That is what wanted to do also, I'm waiting on mr porterbuilt to finish his 1 ton 4 link first though. I have a feeling its not going to be done as soon s he thinks though.

They don't offer a c-notch w/their kit & thus the un-cut frame is what limits the total amount of drop. I still don't understand where they get their 7-10" drop dimension for the 73-91 C30 set-up when there's no c-notch used because on mine the dimension is </= 8" between the top of the axle tube & the bottom of the frame.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
Got an email from Nate today, looks like he has had some other requests for a bolt on 1 ton kit and thinks it should bebetter by the end of January.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
I hope they do so.
Does KP do a 6 link setup for 1 tons? I am thinking porterbuilt front and a 6 link out back for mine. But that'll be at least another 15 months from now.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
They only offered 1/2 ton stuff when I researched rear suspension options. Also, based on conversations I had w/them before CA Chassisworks bought them out, the 6-link is intended for a cruiser only & not for supporting ANY kind of load other than the cooler & lawn chairs for a show.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
This weekend I finally had a chance to finish up all the wiring, routing hoses, and clean up the rest of the air install. I also wired in the new headlight harness for the new core support. I still have a leak in the right front bag somewhere but I'm going to call it done for a couple weeks so I can work on my new swb.

Re: 88 Crew cab dually
as requested, a picture of the rear bag maxed out. It lifts the rear fender about 2.5" above the tire
