What is my trans missing?

What is supposed to be in the circled holes? If you have pics and/or part numbers great. The trans is a 2006 4l60e. Thanks

The 1st pic........The 2 upper holes are the transmission cooler line fittings, The bottem circle is the dipstick/tube.

2nd pic......( I modified your pic), The black circles are the Neutral Safety Switch mounting bolt holes.

The Yellow circle= Shift Shaft..........Problem is there is NO shift shaft.......This CONCERNS me!!!! Remove the pan & take a pic of the trans/valve body.

DO NOT install that trans!!!!

its not really something you take out. I'd think its been opened up, and god knows whats been done.
This would be a *run* situation for me, as I know nothing about auto trans internals.

becuase its not something to take out that scares me that ti is missing bad i'd take it to a tranny shop and have them tear it down before i even though of installing it

Don't believe so. When you undo the nut at the end, the plastic box slides off of the shaft. That little plastic box is splined on the inside, and when the shaft rotates it changes the indicator.

As stated, Its not something you remove on a good transmission, There could be other things missing, Heres drawing of the shift shaft & related parts.

i also received a 2004 4l80e 4x4 transmission and transfercase (looks like the picture above) with this 4l60. could the shifter be swapped over?

They will not swap. Take a pic with the pan off.....And I will help you as much as I can, The 4L60E might be junk & missing many parts.

heck if you have to put money into the 4l60e, you might as well just work the 4l80e if you have it just sitting there.

i am not going 4x4. i just wanted a 2wd trans to bolt up to my motor

ya i get that, but if your going to have to open up the 4l60, you might as well just set up the rear of the 4l80e for 2wd.
My point is, I couldn't put money into a 4l60e if a 4l80e was sitting right next to it.

The problem i have is that the 4l60 was the original with the motor. The 4l80 was from 2 years older. I have not done any of the wiring yet. I need to find out the difference in cost between getting this 4l60 in order or finding a rebuilt t350, or 700-r4, or getting the 4l80 swapped over...this project is getting on my nerves...
