Carb and stock wire harness...
If i decide to go with a carb, how much of the original wiring harness is required. Being that my motor is 2006 and uses the pedal and tac, how does that work with the carb?

Re: Carb and stock wire harness...
You need crank sensor, cam sensor, coils, ground, computer hot wire, diagnostic wire and water temp sensor. That's all that's left on mine after a buddy fixed the harness. I questioned the temp sensor and he stated that the computer acts funny without the temp sensor reading. He's done swaps on many cars and tune's ls based cars for a living. It works good.

Re: Carb and stock wire harness...
Sorry I forgot to answer your other question. The tac module is for throttle control and DBW pedal. So in a carb setup they are not used.

Re: Carb and stock wire harness...
Anyone know what the cost of an aftermarket harness is for carb versus fi?

Re: Carb and stock wire harness...
you don't need any of the original ls harness..just a MSD box to run the coils. you don't need the DBW pedal either....Edelbrock sells a intake and msd kit specifically for carb'd ls motors...

p.s. The msd box comes with its own harnnes. None of the factory harness is needed. Except for the short harness that is on the coil brackets.

Re: Carb and stock wire harness...
Guys I have both the MSD 6010 on the 1969 c10 and a carb setup ran by a factory computer and hacked harness on my 1955 chevy sedan. So you can pick up a used intake and use the factory harness, and have the fatory computer programmed. To me this was a cheaper alternative than the MSD box and is fully adjustable. The hacked harness has the same wires to hookup. Just my 2 cents
