Question for those with shortbeds

Actually for those with short-fleet beds. What does your spid say about that? I was looking at the spid for my 83 shortbed and it's a fleetside bed but the spid says stepside bed. Am I correct in assuming the bed was swapped out at some point in time. It's not a big deal I like the fleetsides better, but I was wondering what the spid would say for a fleetside truck. Thanks!

Re: Question for those with shortbeds

Stepside = RPO E62
Fleetside = RPO E63

Short vs Long wheelbase resides in the model code:

10703 = shortbox
10903 = longbox

So - for a short fleet the SPID should show a model code of 10703 and a bed RPO of E63.

Re: Question for those with shortbeds

Thanks. According to my spid my truck is supposed to be a stepside...the code matches what was posted. Oh well. Not a big deal. Thanks again for the info.
