Help ID factory aluminum 2WD rims - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hi , I get so much great info here and need some help I can't seem to find on my own

I just bought 4 aluminum 5 bolt rims
I am thinking they are factory 80's?? as they match some pics I have seen here and the stock center caps bolt to them

Inside the rims it says
"modern wheel 15 x 6.5 JJ"

Anybody know, thanks

Yes, yes they are. You can find and know the RPO code if you want.

At least I think they probably came on it factory, it was a conversion 'burban.

It does not seem as 'concave' as the other one posted?

Also stamped 'Made in the USA' on the inside....very cool

Will a 31x10.5 tire work on these rims??

Didn't realize that they would only be a 6.5" wide rim?
Seems pretty skinny for a 80's era pickup

Maybe those are van wheels? I know the rally wheels for van were 6.5 wide while the truck wheels came in 7 or 8 inch. That would explain why the don't look as concave.

Could even be 'old aftermaket' as they are stamped 'made in USA'

I was always thinking they would be at least 7" wide as I am wanting to run 31" tires on them
I think best to start a new thread on that

The van 8 hole aluminum wheels were 6.5's and the trucks/suburbans 8 hole aluminum wheels were 7's. Even the K5's and 4x4 squares with the 8 hole (6 lug) aluminum wheels were 7's.

Those are factory wheels you pictured chronos, not aftermarkets.

You should be ok. I have ran 15" wide 35's on an 8" wide rim with no problems.
