First truck need suspension help
Hi, this is my first truck, I got it as a graduation gift from college. I'm pretty much as new as it gets when it comes to cars although i have a good group of friends to help me out. I did have a question though. The PO had heated the front springs on the truck and the front of the truck sits really low while the but is up in the air. I like the look but the ride is horrible. Any ideas on what size springs to switch to to keep somewhat of the same look and not have that same horrible feeling when i come across a dip.

Welcome to the forum noguirre71. From the pic it looks like you got a pretty solid start in the classic truck world.
I suggest you check our Forum Classified section, the Suspension Marketplace, or the Vendors Marketplace for a set of springs to replace what the P/O heated and ruined. The most economical route is to cut a coil off a set od stock springs. For a few bucks more you can get a set of lowered springs. I prefer to use lowering spindles first, then springs if you need them

Looks like its about a 4" front drop. I'd do some 2.5" drop spindles & 1-2" drop springs or drop spindles w/1 coil cut from some un-torched coils.

I'm going to need to replace those torched springs that are on there aren't I? N I'm sorry for asking these dumb questions but would I need to buy spindles along with new springs? SCOTI, would that size springs give me the front slanted look. Thanks you guys! |

The advantage of dropped spindles is in alignment.The cut or lowered springs will require more work to get aligned.The other advantage is there is more spring height to allow suspension travel.It's about even on install though if you have it that far apart,you may want to replace any worn ball joints,tie rod ends and other suspension parts also.The spindles will set you back more in $$$.There are plenty of cut/lowered spring trucks running around tho.
