Where to get a stock 350 prom chip ect.

Can I just go to a junk yard and pull a 87-95 350 prom or is there some matching I need to do. The truck had a 305 but now has a new 350 in it with headman headers, Edelbrock performer tbi intake, 350 injectors, and is currently running on the stock 305 prom chip. I have a jet prom chip I ordered for it but I feel its not working out to well for it.

I did a swap in my fater in laws truck, just pulled a chip from the junkyard with a 350 and matching tranny. The 95's are different so do want one of those unless your whole system is 95. Also know that you will need to change the knock sensor and knock sensor controller if you have one, small black box next to you tbi to go with the 350, the 305's are different.

Make sure you use a prom from a ecm that has the same service number. I think the last 4 digits are 7747. I think 87-91 or 92.

Re: Where to get a stock 350 prom chip ect.

Ok today I added a new Electronic Spark Control Module and Map Sensor and put the jet performance chip/prom back in and it still runs the same. It will
idle fine but when you turn the AC on it will bog down or when your driving it and goose it the truck will go but will hesitate and feels like it don't have the power it should. Could it be the coil,TPS or something els? Also setting idle for a 5 min or so it will just die.

Where is your timing set? I had a problem withteh way the distributor was clocked; it was putting presure on the ESC plug and missing intermittently. I restabbed the distributor (plugs at about 2:00), and reset timing at 0 with the tan wire unplugged. Problem solved.
