Canadian 305 block 14010208 ID

Greetings gear-heads, Got this engine in a 1978 Silverado:
GM block casting number 14010208 marked 5.0 LG Canada with knock sensor.
The first 4 numbers are cast badly and hard to read (the 4 is a guess) the last four are in good shape and I'm sure of them.
heads 14014415 intake 4bbl 14057053. K0527ADD Engine ID code stamped on pad.
All the info I can find.
heads 14014415 1.72in. 1.50ex. 76-79 305, 80-82 267-305,83-85 305.
aluminum intake 4bbl 14057053 83-85 305 impala,caprice
McKinnon Industries Canada, May 27 engine suffix code ADD.
I'm thinking a 1985 LG4 305 150-160hp, but I would like a second opinion. I've searched though everything I can find and haven't found a sbc casting # 14010208. They do exist I have found sprint car rules with the block listed. Also haven't found engine suffix code ADD.
Any help would be appreciated.
Going to put this in a 95 S10 in the near future, runs real nice.

Re: Canadian 305 block 14010208 ID

Something I found posted by Mike on GMPowertrain.ca Forum:

Broadcast code or as often referred to a the suffix code or engine application code. According to GM documentation the first letter in the suffix code determine if it was a car of truck engine. C and Z were pass car engines, T or A for trucks.
Broadcast code was what the final assembly used to code this engine to a particular model.

So I my have a truck block after all. Anyone heard of this?
Also I read if a engine is not used in the US there may be no record of it in here so I'm trying to search Canada without much luck so far. Any ideas?

Are you sure the last digit is 8? Just going by that list, if it were an 8 it would likely be a 350. Maybe its a badly stamped 3? Is it a 2 or 4 bolt main, because 305's only had 2 bolt mains.

Re: Canadian 305 block 14010208 ID

Yes Dalaigh the first four casting numbers are a mess but, I'm Absolutely positive the last number is an 8. I picked at the numbers with an awl right down to bare metal then took emery cloth and lightly scuffed the tops, snapped several high resolution digital photographs and blew them up on my laptop. The only number that is completely unreadable is the 2nd. Running every number between 1 and 9 through any index I could find, a 4 is the only one that fits. Remember the block is marked 5.0LG on the bell housing flange. I haven't dissembled it because the motor runs perfect and I want to use it as is in a project l4 to v8 swap in a 95 S10 (my middle-aged toy) then maybe restore the 78 silverado it came out of. The engine suffix code ADD or the block casing number 14010208 seem to be lost in time.
Thank you Dalaigh for your input.

Re: Canadian 305 block 14010208 ID

Thank you guys for the help. This is not getting me any where. I'm going to pull the motor and determine once and for all the correct casting number. (if the rain ever stops) It would just be too easy (and against my luck of coarse) to decode the rest of the suffix code ADD. It's now obvious to me the motor is not stock to the truck. The truck was $800 and supposed to be a 350 but I had my doubts from the start and only paid $400. I took more pictures of the casting number from several angles and they appear different each time. 1's turn into 4's and 8's to 3's depending on how the flash hits them. EEERRR! I will update this post when the engine is on the ground. Again thanks gents.
