Install input, please, help

Ok, I need to install the new waterpump, but cannot get the heater neck from the old one. Its stuck pretty good. Any advice, is there a way to temp bypass this as well as the ac? As I am working with a small timeframe.
I also have an edelbrock 1406 I need some help installing, a quick walkthru would be great.
Almost forgot, installing new ps pump, do I have to use a certain brand ps fluid or will the cheapo kind do?
As always advice is greatly appreciated, thanks

I would try to locate a new fitting.... I replaced mine, it was part of a after market intake manifold plug kit I got from Orielys.

If you have the factory setup you will run into a couple problems installing the 1406. Quadrajets are spreadbore and Eddy's are squarebore. You should be able to find an adapter for around 20 bucks at any big box auto parts store in the "performance section". You will also need an EGR block off plate since the EGR will hit the new carb, there is also a EGR re-locator part. If you still have the original steel fuel line you will need to change that as well. I completely removed mine and got a couple brass nipples from a fitting supply shop, then I just ran a rubber hose from the fuel pump to the carb with an inline clear filter in between. The threaded vacuum line that threads into the back of the throttle plate of the old carb will also need to be modified, just remove the hardline and entire bracket for the throttle linkage and replace the vacuum line with 3/8's hose. Factory throttle linkage will not work with the new carb, I found a cheap aftermarket adapter through Summit racing, pictured in C. Last but not least, I could not manage to fit my stock air cleaner back to the engine and opted for a cheesy chrome Edelbrock open element filter.

For the power steering pump:

The pulley is pressed on and requires a special tool to remove. Big box store rent these tools for a 30 dollar deposit and you need an impact gun to do this. I found one at harbor freight for 15 bucks and figure out a way to do it without air tools.





Clamp the two halves together with vice grips and you can tighten the center bolt to remove the Pulley. I only did this because I own the tool and dont mind scratching the **** out of it, if you do this to the rented tool they might make you buy it.
