2007 trailblazer conversion to a 58
I have always done old school drop in's but this time around with the help of some friends this is where I am...I wanted to find a LS engine and after I looked everywhere I found a 2007 LS 2 in a trailblazer AWD with 17,ooo KM on it at the wreckers.
The wreckers said they will give me everything I need to drop into swap it out including a 4 speed automatic because I don't want the AWD portion. So my questions are...... Hows that going to work with the computer and wiring harness ? I am getting the harness complete out of the trailblazer but it's not going to be set up for fo a automatic 4 speed soooooooo how is all of that going to work ?.... Does anyone know what kind of gas pedal I will need or that too ? Will i have to get the trailblazer pedal ? any information would be great....I have buddy who said he could wire all of it and is looking for information but any info is apprecated... Thanks

I'm putting an LS2 out of a 07 Trailblazer in my 57.
I got a new wiring harness and pedal from these guys. http://www.psiconversion.com/ If it were me I would get the pedal and everything else I could. Better to have it and not need it than the other way around. |

The wiring to the trans should be the same-- it's 4L60E either way, just the AWD has a shorter output shaft/tailhousing. Get the pedal from the donor vehicle.

TBSS came with a 4l70e, if they are going to give you "any" 4spd they have try to snag a 4l80....most likely they will try to dump a 4l60 on you, and it won't like life behind a 6L.

definitely want at least the 4L70e if your looking to put some power to it. Our 4L70e in our 80k mi. TBSS has already been rebuilt at around 25k or 50k...can't remember... and is beginning to act strange again....

Re: 2007 trailblazer conversion to a 58
From what I understand, you NEEEEED to have a good tranny cooler for those things not to cook themselves. Add to that keeping them in D3 (or 3 not sure how it looks on your shifter) if you drive at all aggressive around town. I wanted to get one for a daily at one point, but because of the tranny I stayed away. Its no wonder so many tbss guys are parting out, or upgrading to 4l80/6l80
