Re: My New '65 Short Step
Ok, more pics please now that you have it. What's that seat like under the cover? Looks to be well worth that price. I say buff it out and drive it as is.

Re: My New '65 Short Step
Got my out of province inspection done today. Needed front brake shoes and a tailpipe hanger, but otherwise passed no problem.
I'm gonna pull the seat and floor mat and give her a good cleaning tomorrow. Thing is filthy! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: My New '65 Short Step
In front of the rear fenders you have something mounted to the side of the box that i can't make out in your photo. I have two holes in about the same sot ... what are those ?
My 230 is locked up solid and has been for over 30 years, I got everything unhooked and ready to pull ... 50 years of desert dirt and grime, i get what you mean by filthy. |

Pulled up the seat cover and the seat is torn on the driver side. Not sure if I'll rebuild the seat or go custom with seat belts built in. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: My New '65 Short Step
Mine is toast as well, so I'm in need of a new cover. I think I'm going to keep my truck looking mostly original. I will be swapping in a 350/auto as well as adding power steering and brakes, but I'm going to try to leave the rest as it is.

Re: My New '65 Short Step
Thanks Pappy!
I pulled the floor mat, seat and cardboard tank cover out to clean the cab. Found a little surface rust in the right footwell. Kinda scared me when I first saw it! Scraped it with a pick and it is solid. Some of the seam sealer is dry and falling out. I might hit that spot with some POR 15 and then Dynomat the whole floor and carpet over top.
