Re: 1965 Factory C-10 A/C Question

Rbar thank you for that reply.

Apparently I have jump the gun again. I was thinking all I needed to do was buy the a/c vents and the ducts would hook up throught the ash tray. But clearly that's not the way it's gonna work. I take it you have an a/c ready dash. Do you think I could trouble you for the dimensions of the opening please.

Re: 1965 Factory C-10 A/C Question

I didnt have an ac dash, but I do now. Someone was very helpful and posted a print of the opening. I'm not at home now, but I will hopefully post it this evening.

Re: 1965 Factory C-10 A/C Question

I found the actual screw-on knobs for the pull cables. They are the same as the ones used on the 63-64 Corvette. I bought 3 from YearOne, who had the best price I found at the time, and just got them in. I checked them against the only original I had, and I screwed one onto the pull cable, and they are IDENTICAL in fit, function, and looks! Here's where you can get them:

Re: 1965 Factory C-10 A/C Question

I have a question for you guys, I am looking at having a the air conditioning vent reproduced, this is what I got back from a designer what do you guys think I have not done this before and don't know if this is good or not. Hi Bud,
Ok, cool.
Ah! I see why they don't make them. Not too many '65 chevy pickups came w/ AC.
Are you interested in fully dimensioned 2D drafting for use to quote at different prototypers? Or you just need a 3D solid file?
Since it's just plastic you might be able to have it rapid prototyped, but it would need some polishing.

For a good accurate CAD model (3D only) of the base and middle vent you'd be looking at about $400-600. Add $50-$150 for 2D drafting depending on level of detail needed.
