4l60e questions
I have a 6.0 , motor mount adapters, fuel filter, fuel pump etc... I want to run a 4l60e and I have the opportunity to buy one from a 1996 gmc 1/2 ton.
Its behind a 5.7 vortec, are there any concerns , it has a performance rebuild and the truck. Will it bolt up? any problems that I should know about before i purchase it? Thanks of your time. Keith |

Re: 4l60e questions
Its a 2002 6.0, 2wd 4l60e's here are incredibaly hard to find.
99% of trucks up here are 4x4. I've been looking for 3 months & this is only The second chance I've had to buy. Keith Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 4l60e questions
The external plug is wired completely differently. You might be able to rewire and make it work, but the early trans is generally avoided due to not being plug and play.

Re: 4l60e questions
Check and see how many pins it has in the round connector make sure its 13. it will work with the flexplate adapter. I am using a 97 4l60e. It will bolt up minus one bolt. The original would work better but sometimes we have to use what we got.

Re: 4l60e questions
I'm told it has the longer bell housing so I will have to use a spacer. But they say the converter is supported better that way and that this set up lasts longer.
Either way I'm gonna buy it. Keith |

Re: 4l60e questions
The 6.0 already has the appropriate spacer/flywheel, so your spacing is good. The main concern is the electronics and if your PCM can control it...
