my new to me 1986 chevy sub
i just picked up a 1986 chevy suburban with a 6.2 diesel in it with 182,000 miles on it. im the fourth owner the woman i got it from said her grandfather bought it new in 86 an ordered the heavy duty tow package on it with a posi track rear. pretty clean if i have to say so myself.
an here is a pic of it after i put my cowl hood onit curtousy of top bananna parts fit great by the way |

Drop spindles an bags a small 4 inch notch in rear an flip axel over top of springs an bag the rear like justpball done his. Also plan to get a set of 18x8 streeter wheels for the front an a set of 20x10s for the rear

Ok update Im planning to pick up a set of 18x9 boss 304 wheels next weekend. So that will be another step closer also i have put my 12" subs in an a 1500watt amp an lighting cap

thanks everyone whos following here is a update pic for 3" spindles in a little rubbing on the rallies at full lock an had to move brake lines to clear the spindles

If I turbo it I will proably just swap a 6.5 in it but that will only come after the 6.2 dies. I dOnt need to fly up the highway so the 6.2 does all I need it to plus it gets great fuel mileage. So why mess with it.

Exhaust plans are to build one of the exhaust adapters by a dr lee swagger from over on the diesel forum an run 3" from 2.5 adapters back with proably flowmasters not sure if it's a j code or c code motor had t checked yet. I got a 6" k&n filter I could put on but would have would have to make a top for the filter. I do plan to install some hot glow plugs eventually

Bypass that glow plug controller with a push button before it causes you grief. But make sure you select the right glow plugs that can handle extended glow plug times. I'm using AC Delco 60G but there might be something preferable right now.

I forget which ones exactly but I think they are Keith something an my old motor which was a 1/2 ton 4x4 an had a j code motor an the one my dad had which is now in my 91 sub is also a j code motor an like I said just had t checked the numbers to see about this motor. Never real had problems with factory controller but how would you do that

Right I will have to check into it am maybe get a spare to carry with me. So far I have replaced several of the fuel return lines on the motor an the brake line an caliper Was wondering about turning up the injector pump but have never messed with one so
