fuel supply
Please dont just tell me to go look at the FAQ. if i knew the answer i wouldnt be posting this. I have a 68 with an 04 6.0L. i am assuming from what i have read on here that because there is only one hookup for the fuel rail that i dont need a return line. can i simply run from the internal fuel pump in the tank to any in line fuel filter and then to the fuel rail ? or do i need to get a regulator in line with the filter? if so, before or after the filter? do i just cap the return line fitting on the tank? otherwise is there any reputable shops in the fort worth area that you would recomend ?

what is the inlet fitting? and is that at GM connection on the downstream side or are you just sliding a rubber hose over them that is rated for fuel injection? I assume one of those fittings is a return line off the filter? Built in regulator?

The inlet fitting is the one on the right/top. The center fitting on top is the return to tank. The outlet is on the bottom. It's a filter/regulator that is originally from a C5 corvette. I've used these on several swaps in the past...but make sure you buy a quality unit. I've had "cheaper" ones that were bad (regulator) out of the box.
Also, DO NOT just slide rubber hose over the fittings. Do it right, and either get the correct push-lock to -6 adapters, or buy some dorman replacement fuel lines and use a compression to -6 adapter.

You will need these for the inlet and return lines. Inlet is 3/8 and return is 5/16.

does anyone in fort worth area carry this stuff in stock? I absolutely HATE ordering crap off the internet. it is not a security thing. i just would rather have some kind of human interaction. even if it is just someone handing me something and taking my money

If you have a good speed shop they may carry some of it. I've also had luck hitting off road/4x4 shops for some things. Pep Boys may have some also. You may have to print out some pics so they know what you're talking about.

The filter/regulator is absolutely an over the counter item at any auto supply shop. The fittings will be a little more difficult but some of the better shops may carry what you need. The fuel injection pressure hose is also over the counter at most shops.
And, yes, all of this can be found using the search commands but I'm not sure it's in the FAQ section...

i ended up getting the filter at oreillys and went to Speedtech in fort worth. they had the hose in bulk and all the fittings in stock. i didnt do a price comparison between them and jegs but no matter what it is, it is worth it to be able to talk to someone in person and know that you are getting the right parts the first time
