Re: Throtle by wire on old accelerator ?
Not an option, you need to get the correct pedal and tac module to match the pcm and tb on your truck. The mechanical linkage can only be used if you switched over to drive by cable.

Some of us have attached our pedals to the DBW pedal assembly.

Re: Throtle by wire on old accelerator ?
This is an old posting, but I have a question about modifying DBW pedals. Using a 2003 Tahoe into my 55 suburban. Can I shorten the lever arm so it fits better? Do you have to use the entire swing of the pedal? If I set the pedal up where I use the entire swing, it is to high and uncomfortable when in the up position.

Re: Throtle by wire on old accelerator ?
^I went through this as well. I ended up cutting a new arm (my gas pedal is actually a shotgun barrel, but thats a long story)..the length I wanted, and then attaching that to the old base/sensor assembly. Its doable, just don't heat the base up too much or you can fry the sensor (it comes off if you want to be safe.
As far as the sweep...we didn't really figure out a way to change that, though maybe in the tune? With the angle my pedal arm is at, it uses the full sweep, yet sits tight to the floor giving max leg room.
