New Here!

Whats going on guys! my name is Gary, I'm 27 from Long Island, NY. i used to be into low riders and mini trucks, now I'm working on my first street rod. (my dads been doing it since he was 14). I picked up a '53 3 window pickup back in 2008, a friend of mine had it shipped up from New Mexico. long story short, the truck was abandoned in a field and a shop class half assed the truck and ditched it at the end of the year... So begins my nightmare lol

if you can picture a truck that was built wrong, this would be your poster ride! if you see a 2x4 under the truck, stay away!! lol they took the gas tank out of the truck, flipped it and mounted it under the bed with a piece of wood, jerry rigged a filler neck out of what looked like a pool filter tube and then ran really...reallly shady fuel lines! the only thing good was the front suspension motor, trans, and rear. its got a 383 stroker pushing 425, with a turbo 350 that was set up to a 57 chevy rear end with 4:11's (i blew those up) and now am running 3:73's. the truck came to me as a Rat Rod, I'm un ratting it, and turing it into a real hot rod. ill be posting pics of the build as i go, she's 90% painted, but i still have to put her back together, all the work is being done by me and my dad, and some help from 2 friends who committed from the start. ill post pics of what she used to look like, let me know what you think!
ps: how do i update my user info on here?
