It brings you down 4" in the front and 6" out back from original height.

Alright it's actually not raining for once....does anyone know how to remove the angle strips from the bed sides? I'm pretty sure they're spot welded on, but don't want to start drilling without being sure.

Thanks a lot!! Trying to really get back on it lately. Bed sides, fenders, and steps are getting soda blasted right now and I should have them back tomorrow. (New tailgate and front bed panel)

hey it's not that bad!....right?...haha yeah I love the blasted metal! That drivers side fender is freaking me out a little bit...and the body work is gonna suck more than usual...but I'm hoping to finish up all of the rust repair by Saturday if not tomorrow.

Oh and both steps are perfect!!

I hadn't said before, but I got everything soda blasted at a place called EnviroClean off of Spring Cypress close to Kuykendahl. The guy's name is Billy and yeah he was very reasonable compared to other quotes I got. 300 for the bed.

I had my short fleet side bed blasted along with my tailgate and left front fender and then all of it was powder primed after to give it a durable coating just like gm use to dip the parts it gets everywhere where a spray gun can't best thing ever annoy only cost me 500$ gonna send them a spare can this year as well gotta look into what they do for frames mine needs it desperately lol

Nice! I'll try and get up some more pics tomorrow.

Rust repair is done on both bedsides. One of them is primed. Both steps are primed. Going to see how far we can get on the fenders tomorrow!

nice repair! keep it up lol just think while your tacing all those thousands of more tacs, that when you grind them all down it will be so much faster

Sorry about no updates. I primed the bedsides and fenders a good while back, got the hardware to bolt the bed together and it's together now with the new front panel and on the truck. I'm back in College Station so that's why things have slowed down. I think the best way to body work this is bolted together, then take everything back apart for paint. I'm also open to advice. I got all of the cross sills including the rear, as well as the angle strips. For a while I wasn't sure how to attach the strips to the bed sides, but what I'm going to do is get them lined up where they need to be, drill corresponding holes in the bedsides (again!) and spot weld them from the backside. This will keep it smooth down the length of the vertical section of the strips. They will be painted red and my other bed strips will be polished stainless.
We thought it'd be a good idea to have the wood to know exactly where to weld in the angle strips, so I've been talking to my dad about what wood to go with! Probably going with Bed Wood and Parts. I'm definitely open to suggestions and pictures with what to go with! Thinking maybe ash, maple, hickory, red or white oak. The overwhelming majority of bright red trucks have a lighter wood which looks great, but I was thinking something darker and different might look killer like a dark walnut...

I went light with my original oak wood bed and I love the character of the cracks and bows and have had many compliments on it as well I'm almost fearing replacing it when I tear her apart again
