The glovebox looks pretty much like it should in the pic. I'll have to put the two parts side by side, but I don't think the door is much, if any darker than the heater controls. The pics make the look like theres more difference than there actually is. I've had two '66 trucks and they've both matched the NOS heater controls very closely. I have seen pics of some that we're lighter though. Maybe different plants had slightly different colors?

This is an awesome thread and I will be adding info as time permits. Here are a couple of photos of a 66 gmc firewall with factory Powerglide auto and factory power brakes. the red color is a repaint not matching the original cardinal red but the firewall is the original fawn paint.

here are some 60-61 chevys and gmc's with factory paint...
I put up a pic of the 62-66 door/back cab stripe too.

Great detail. When going OEM, sometimes its not all the stuff you do correct that is seen but the one thing you do wrong. I like details personally.

Jonzcustomshop are all those trucks yours. It looks like my personal junkyard(or partsyard as I prefer to refer to it). I will have to come down and visit you on of these days and check it out. One of my blk 65 K10s was original to Missoula. It is very original except for the flat bed and I have original protecto plate and key fob from Kraabel Chevrolet in Missoula.

Re: The 1960 - 1966 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Factory Correct Restoration Thread

I've got a question about the interior paint on the doors--where does the interior paint end and the exterior paint begin?
The exterior paint rolls into the door jam and is separated by the weather striping piece over the pinch weld/flange around the inside of the door opening.
But where on the door itself is the line between interior and exterior paint?

Right on the edge. See pic. The hinge side is not so crisp - lots of overspray there.

Semi-Gloss black - The only ones who see the underside of the truck are those poor souls on the sidewalk that I've passed over

cast iron gray is correct for the brake drums and other misc. parts that were originally left bare cast from the factory.

Re: The 1960 - 1966 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Factory Correct Restoration Thread

From the factory the outside color or colors (if two-toned) was painted first and then the interior color on the door jambs. If you notice when sanding on your door jambs you will sand the fawn off and the outside color is underneath it. Also at least for 62-66 with the white top the white was painted first and then the lower color.
