Re: Burb Seat question

suburbans have rear seats and panels don't. the floor pan continues further back in a suburban for the second seat than a panel. think that the actual seats are the same though. have had both and not seen a diff

Re: Burb Seat question

I saw a 65 Panel that had the split bench. Must be horrible for the poor soul that has to sit on the split between the seats.

There's the two bucket seat option for the panels that would look nice in a burb.

Re: Burb Seat question

A panel came w/one fixed back bucket w/a pass side optional, burbs had a folding pass side bucket(to access the rear seat) with a wider(2 person) driver's seat that did not fold.

Re: Burb Seat question

Found these on Craigslist last week. They'd go well in a pickup.

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/d...150056297.html

Notice neither seat has the Suburban type passenger seat tilt brackets. So If you optioned for buckets there was an optional tilt for the passenger side.

Re: Burb Seat question

Copied from the original CL ad for future reference.

Original bucket seats from a 1963 Chevrolet panel truck - will also work with GMC. These original bucket seats will fit 1960 through 1966 chevy or gmc as original equipment. Good condition - seat covering is very good - just needs a good cleaning - I am selling them below value because I am moving and not seeking to "build a panel."

If you have a panel or are refurbishing one - here are the stock seats - hard to find item but they authenticate the interior - so in some respects they are priceless -

$400.00 for the pair.

Re: Burb Seat question

Burb front seats were RPO in a panel, std was one bucket. Anoterh bucket optional, 60-40 was RPO also.

I didn't say that the documentation was wrong. I had just said that I had not seen any. and looking back through your pages I see that it shows them
they may have been listed as std equipment, but on the other hand how many were ever ordered with them? they were all loisted with certain tires on them as std equipment but were rarely ever ordered with those sizes. this was part of the early pricing battles between the automakers. they could sell you that $1695.00 basic truck esp for governmental of fleet pricing. But I bet if you do do the research, I doubt that you would find many dealershjips would order them in that way. That I learned from my time with IHC as a parts man and selling them

Not all the info I show has been accurate Ron. What members have seen and experienced tells more.

Re: Burb Seat question

CL listing for a 64 Panel. Notice the difference in the seat back and one seat has a similar adjustment lever similar to the pickup bench seat.

but as I said a lot of these types of things can be std equip, but very rarely seen. the proper GM documentation will usually validate std equipment and not really what any one says unless they can back it up with that documentation
it is like the pictures of the seats that you have; who really know if they are the genuine thing. the seat back construction is different from what is generally seen in these vehicles

Re: Burb Seat question

My burb came with a spare (brown) seat. Very different from my stocker. I never did ID it before I sold it but now I'm thinking I had a panel seat.

What do you guys think?
