You can store your truck at my house for as long as you like.......I get driving privileges of course, take the Elky with you and if you ever move back your truck will be here waiting.

Re: what would you choose?

Sell them both so you don't have to fuss with moving either. Once you reach the west coast you can easily find yourself a rust free cream puff of your choice whether it be a 60-66 or a Elko. Personally I've never been much of an Elko fan but I do like the 67 and 69 SS versions for some reason. My wife's cousin has a one owner 67 396 SS ELko I've been begging him for years to sell me but to no avail.

Dang, while biased, I would have kept the truck. But like others said, plenty of other "fish" in the sea

I'm happy you didn't follow this guys advice because you would have paid a whole lot more for another ElCo.

Hmmm, I wonder if that is a fact? Given what he is going to pay to get that thing across the country whether he drives or trailers it I think it would be pretty close. Gas is nearing $4 here and diesel is over $4. Not to mention most any west coast ElCo is more than likely going to be a solid rust free car.

Glad you were able to make a quick sale. How much did you get if you don't mind my asking? I believe I saw it on Ebay one day when I was browsing.

I had it in my eBay watch list. You got good money for it. Congrats.
What state is it going to?

I agree, love our body style but they are not exactly rare. The el co is rare and becoming harder to find every day. Not my favorite body style of El Camino but still a true classic.

Truck ended up in North Carolina. He picked it up the next day after the auction and is loving it.The guy has a few other badd older Chevy's. I sure don't like Ebay it can make you excited and nervous as heck. Started auction on a Saturday and was going great to Tuesday. Was up to $5500 and then nothing until it was sold.Went for $7200, I was happy I got more than expected. What was crazy is my wife texted me a few days before and told me I was going to get $7200. I was close to getting $300 more from another guy but he said he needed transportation money to pick it up. Made almost a few grand from my purchase so I was happy They Elky is happy with the extra attention he's getting now. It will make its trip to LA and eventually park next to another C10 one day they're AWESOMEGuess I gotta create another avatar now.

Hey! Just now saw that you are moving to LA. PLEASE check on cost of storage around your new home--I feel sure it'll be peanuts. Just was reading about income levels and cost of living in various places. Was I surprised to see both are quite, quite low. In this case you COULD keep both, by storing Elky, and about once every 2 years, swap places with them. After driving Elky a couple of days, I personally feel you'll be quite antsy to swap back.
BTW: enjoy Lower Alabama!
