Power steering to manual?
I am building a bbc, currently running small block with power steering. My truck is officially a trailer queen. What should I do for steering? Keep power or go manual. And what parts? Thanks

Re: Power steering to manual?
I would keep the power steering and also add a hydroboost for better braking.

Re: Power steering to manual?
What year is your truck? Mine is an '87. I have a friend in Ohio that has a junk yard. I know that, 67-87 use the same box and pitman arm. That's what he told me. Also, my box and pitman arm came off a '68 truck.

Re: Power steering to manual?
go to a manual rack. horsepower gains (no steering pump) and super light compared to steering box, pump, and all the steering linkages. you have to be saving more then 75 lbs of weight
just weld brackets of the front the crossmember underneath the harmonic balancer. ill try to post so pics up later. |
