Starting my Blazer build.

Bought this Blazer. I guess I can call it that. Mostly rust. Don't think the body is worth saving. But its a start!

Re: Starting my Blazer build.

The cowl is rusted out so bad the door mounting area is gone. Winshield header rusted. rocker boxes, floor, rear wheel wells, rear quarter bottoms both in front and behind wheel. Bondo everywhere. So basically I bought a frame w/ axles, a tranny and transfer case.

Re: Starting my Blazer build.

The front fenders and cowl are good. And amazingly the inner fenders and core suport are perfect. Hood is bondo.

Holy crap - did somebody else cut that out of the door jam! How bad could it have been way up there?

Re: Starting my Blazer build.

The plan. It will be our family tow rig for weekend trips to the lake and cruising around town. Planning on either a 5.3 or 6ltr. Keeping it 4wd with modest rims and tires so the kids can get in and out. Thinking newer tahoe 1st and second row modified to fit over the wheel wells. We need room for 3 rear seat belts. At least that is the plan for now!

Re: Starting my Blazer build.

Just noticed that this was originally a 2wd blazer converted to 4wd. Interesting...

Re: Starting my Blazer build.

Well here we are 3 years later and I finnally got some work done on this thing. Got it stripped down to the rolling frame. Power washed the frame. Never seen some much junk built up on anything. What a job! Got a few more things to get off the frame and its ready for some paint. PS anyone interested in the rusted tub? If so I will get it listed up properly.
