Um, I hate to tell you but that is not a 2002 5.3 engine. It looks to me more like a '88-'95 TBI 305 or 350.

Sick truck man nice bellflowers how does that thing sound. Yeah the ls motors have really flat oval shaped valve covers with coils on them. Those tbi's are cool motors too tell your homie to keep the fuel injection on it.

Re: option for 1964? rear mounted engine
Haha, the rear mount engine option for '64 is not so far fetched. They called it the Corvair rampside. What an idea, that car. One time in history when Gm went way out on a limb with engineering and technology. The public wasn't ready for it then and to this day that whole effort is seen kinda like a failure even though it was a great car. A weird chapter in the book of automobile history for sure.

Just like the one in my truck .. Clean the back of the block off and you may see 5.0 or 5.7 on it , then you will know what you have .....

TBI is still a good engine Hopped. If he doesn't want it it sounds to me like you got half of a new truck project right there Just wrap some sheetmetal around it and drive it! -FMP
