last year for 8' stepside bed??

when was the last year for 8' stepside bed? and can you swap one for a regular bed?

i know ya can swap em for a regular bed im told 1980 was the last year for factory installs but some newer ones have been made using older bodies

i am going to put a long stepside on

i am going to take off my fleetside and put on a step side but the guy at the junk yard told me that they havent made a long stepside in 25-30 years. do they all have the wooden bed or was metal an option.

All stepsides came with wood floors.
He is a little off then, how about 16 years. I might can get you a pic of a 81-87 that is in my neighborhood if you want to give him further proof. ( I only see it occasionally on the weekends parked - assume it is a daily driver.)
