Hello All new guy here
Hi All,
Had my 64 C20 for a while, Stubbled across this site while dong research on a 61. Ended up buying a 61 Apache for my wife. Hope to get some good info here and hopefully share some too. My truck is a 64 C20 350 chevy/350 auto transmission. Air Ride suspension. long bed fleetside. painted bumpers, and grille. Bench seat . Bought it because my grandfather had one back in the day, he still had it in 91 when I was learning to drive. We drive the heck out of it (we enjoy it) Just tucked it away for the winter. We live in Jamesville NY just outside the city of Syracuse NY. My wife will be posted (under her own username) about her truck. Glenn |

Re: Hello All new guy here
I think Corvairs are cute and novel now because they are so rarely seen, but I hated them back in the 60's. I worked on too many of them and got sick of dealing with the perpetual engine leaks, and trying to remove the broken bolts from the bottom of the engines when the owners snapped them off trying to stop the oil drips. That and reinstalling thrown fan belts!

Re: Hello All new guy here
Heres a quick peak of the 61. We just got it last night.
A few questions. This is a 6 lug truck does anyone know the bolt pattern of these? Also is the dash the same color as the body? Thanks Glenn 64tantruck |

Re: Hello All new guy here
Very nice looking '61
The Chevy 6 lug is a 6 x 5.5" pattern. GM used this bolt pattern clear up into the mid 2000's. The Toyota and Nissan 6 lug is also 6 x 5.5"
