73-87 billet hood hinges

Went to Sema and saw these billet hinges. Thought I'd share. They are $700 a pair.
They are made by www.eddiemotorsports.com

Someone that has more than 700.00 in their truck would.
I spoke with them at Goodguys in Dallas and they said they were close to production. It looks like they are available now. Hmmm.

BTW- Your title (73-87) and their tag (73-81) are incorrect, they fit 73-80 only.

Re: 73-87 billet hood hinges

I still dot get why ? Even if I had a lot more money into trucks which by the time I sold em I had thousands into them. I couldn't fathom paying 700 for good hinges

Re: 73-87 billet hood hinges

Damn, I like these trucks because there is a billion of them out there and parts are plentiful and cheap. I couldn't justify 700 bucks for hood hinges on a 73-87. I'll admit I've spent stupid money on nos sheet metal, but if I'm wasting big bucks on my cars the money is going to the chevelle. Sorry truck.

Well, there must be enough of a demand. Somebody has enough $.

Besides, once they engineer one, it is pretty much put the blank in the machine and hit go.

Re: 73-87 billet hood hinges

To some people 700 for a pair of billet hinges is worth it,Knowing them they will make a set for the 81 down i bet. They make a set for the 71-73 mustang and no one else has or would but them.

Re: 73-87 billet hood hinges

They had a 79 in their shop, so they used it to R&D a part that they had some requests for. Yes thats expensive, but it is a very nice quality piece. If these sell well, they plan to build 81-87 hinges too.

Re: 73-87 billet hood hinges

You wouldn’t pay $700 for hinges, but are you building a show vehicle? Not everyone is, but for those who are it’s the things that make yours stand apart from the others. Kinda like 18 or 24 inch wheels. Or 350 or a LS motor…

Same here lol

Would not buy. Not to mention they look like they have considerable more... bulk than the stockers. I'm sure they do some neat trick but the stockers do a decent enough job with that very same trick so... seems like a waste of money. Given that extra bulk to even consider them, they'd have to be closer to what they LOOK like they're worth, which would be around $80. That's just how they come off to me. Company would have probably been better served to put their time/development money into something else.

Paint, wood bed kit, new bumpers, dash pad... I envy the guy who can spend that kind of money on a nearly invisible piece of the truck, and choose to spend mine on the basics. These things are all about self expression, though. Glad we live in a country where someone can make a living gilding the lily like this. How long before the Chinese knockoffs show up on EBay?

$700 hinges are for people with far more money than brains.
