72 Custom Camper rear end ratio?
402 big block, turbo 400, with leaf springs. SPID card does not identify, looking for gear ratio options. I suspect 3.54 but not quite sure.
Anyone?

Re: 72 Custom Camper rear end ratio?
If you have a Dana 60 it is probably 3.54

Re: 72 Custom Camper rear end ratio?
Ledddzepp has it right. A '72 C/20 400/Auto would have the D60 3.54 ration. With leaf springs 4.11 was an option.

Re: 72 Custom Camper rear end ratio?
My 402/TH400 Custom Camper w/Dana 60 is (was) also a 3.54, though I swapped it for 4.56 when I added the overdrive transmission. Can't swear that they all had that same ratio, but from the posts above it looks pretty common.
A wire brush will tell all, though.

Re: 72 Custom Camper rear end ratio?
If it's still in place, on the inspection cover of the rear end, usually on one of the top bolts, there should be a small metal tag. This will have the ratio embossed on it. Like the other guys said, should be 3:54 ratio. This is common.

Re: 72 Custom Camper rear end ratio?
Just FYI Mine was stamped on the housing rather than on a separate tag, so if you don't see the tag you can generally still find it I believe.
