82 2wd Blazer body bushings
I am looking to put Energy Suspension body mount bushings on my 82 Blazer. I have found a part number for a 4wd Blazer or a 2wd Suburban but not a 2wd Blazer. Any ideas? Use 4wd? Buy Suburban and have extras? Called the ES tech line and they had no answers. Hoping y'all will...

Re: 82 2wd Blazer body bushings
from what i found the 82's had different thickness bushings under the cab but i have never had the money to buy the individual stock bushings to see what would swap out.

I bought the 4wd kit for my 73 Jimmy and it worked out OK. I think I moved some of the mounts around.

Are the stock type rubber mounts available for the 2wd trucks? I didn't know getting body mounts were an issue.

Re: 82 2wd Blazer body bushings
I did some checking with an LMC catalog. They listed the poly's as a 4wd only application. Their individual rubber kits didn't differentiate between 2wd and 4wd so I called to see what was up. After 15 minutes with their tech guy he said they were the same. He sounded more sure he was about to make a sale than he did that they'd fit..... May try them... Summit has a pretty good return policy....

Re: 82 2wd Blazer body bushings
I'm guessing you referring to rusted bolts? Not much rust around here. Bolt removal usually isn't too bad. Have you tried Kroil penetrating oil? The stuff is bad ass. I can spray it on a bolt and have to pick them up off the floor the next morning... Well not really but it is good stuff

Re: 82 2wd Blazer body bushings
I'm not worried about rust so much as stress, fatigue and otherwise being 30+ years old. I'm not planning on doing the job any time soon but would like to at some point.

Re: 82 2wd Blazer body bushings
Wondering if any one could help me out here.
I am putting an '89 k5 body on my '82 2wd frame. Looking at the LMC site it lists a breakup of the parts as '81-84 and (4WD) '85-91. Should I buy the mounts for the '82 (frame) or '89 (body)? Any help is appreciated!

I think someone said you buy the bushings to fit the frame, but I don't recall who or what thread. I'll link it if I can find it.

Looking at the LMC catalog, it looks like the only difference is in the lower cushions (part #14, #23), which looks like it mates to the frame. So that would make sense that you match the frame. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/csb/full.aspx?Page=37

Re: 82 2wd Blazer body bushings
As far as I could tell the rubber part is the same thru the 80's. What did change is the parking brake cables. The metal cups are notched to clear the new cable routing on the 85+ trucks.
