Lets talk AC
My 71 has the rear tunnel AC, converted to R134. It leaks and even when charged, couldn't keep the burb cool in Texas summer.
For those of you that have working AC, what setup are you using? I'm thinking about adding an aftermarket dash system and running it in tandem with the rear tunnel, but that would hinge on being able to find repair parts for the tunnel system. Can this be done or is the tunnel system junk? TIA, AW

I have a vintage air in the front with a factory style condensor (bigger the better). I tee`d in a single rear unit from an 89 suburban hanging in the back. I`m using a factory compressor, it blows little over 40 degrees in the day and below 40 at night. If I`m in traffic i turn on an extra fan mounted in front of the condensor.

AW, if you come across the perfect system, I'd like to hear it. I was going to do AC in February or so. I was thinking of getting a custom headliner with nozzles like in the new Suburbans to help spread the air out a bit. As for power, us Texans need something seriously cold and strong. You might want to review the great explanations over at http://www.griffiths.com/. I'm gonna get a system from them for my Porsche, and they might be able to help with my Burb. Certainly the reading material the have will help you with a plan.

I have vintage air and rear A/C. Does ok in Vegas heat. Till about 120* but we don't have humidity.
