5.3 using stock ac and vintage air

Can you can use the stock truck compressor off the 2002 5.3 ( mine is a denso unit)? Then using vintage air sure fit magnun IV and tran air gm1600 adapter? What other parts are needed to make these compatible?also can you use the vintage air lines?

That should be all you need. Any pictures of the tran air adapter?

Re: 5.3 using stock ac and vintage air

I hooked my stock 2002 Denso to my Old Air Products ac system, works great. I did install a TDI-nary switch to turn the fans on. I used the Docs bolts to connect the system at the compressor

Re: 5.3 using stock ac and vintage air

Rob im using ece mounts. I havent started my build yet still gathering parts up. The ac parts were the last parts on my list to figure out.

Clyde is it necessary to run the tdi-nary switch if im planning on using the clutch fan?

No it's not necessary unless you use an electronic fan

i like this mount, since the lines come out at 90 deg angle to the compressor.
but when i look up the gm 1600 part number the pictures show only straight out fittings???????

where did you get yours?

got system charged yesterday and held pressure good and 39 degree air comming out of it.

the compressor did cycle on and off often, but outside air temp was in 60's so that may have had effect on condensor.

now important note when using the above block on LS compressor.
the LS compressor has differnet machined depths for each side, the adaptor piece is equal length.
so i used two different thickness gasket to make up the difference.

just thought i would point that out
