15 x 8 slot wheels 6 Lug

I wouldn't mind having a set for my 72 4x4. I have been told most are actually 15 x 8.5. I see most seem to have 3 5/8 back space. Does any one have them on a 71- 72? And if so what back spacing works the best? Any pictures would be great

Thanks in advance
Ray

It seems the 10 inch ones are more common.

8.25" x 15" on a 70.
I had 10" on the 4x4 for awhile, but they did rub on corners and bumps with the 33" tires. Best pic i have...
The 2wd has 8.25" rear and 7" up front.

Been looking for these for a while. What used to be common now seems hard to find!

I sold a set (4)of these super cheap at the Monroe swap meet in October. They come up fairly often on Craigslist.

Well Geez!

I must keep missing them, I never see them around! The only set I found was a Jeep set, and I really didn't want to go that route. I'd like to find a nice set of 8" wheels that I can either run as-is or polish up nice. Center caps would be nice too. Super cheap even better!

I talked to a shop in Ellensburg that has some 7" wides but they want almost $700 for them! I'll keep looking- thanks!

I will try to check tomorrow for you. I think these are early wheels since they have the machine turning on them.

Hard to tell the backspace for sure. Maybe 3 3/4"? Kinda cold here and didn't want to lay in the snow very bad...

Thanks Eric,

I seen a Deep set like yours. I was thinking they might stick out a little too far, but yours look good in the pictures. Thanks for the measurements.

Thanks,
Ray

The tires on front are a hair outside the fender opening. Tires are 33x12.5x15. And with those mud terrains, you do get some rocks and such flying around! Let me know if you want any more pics.

Eric,

I think I am good. Just wanted to check the back spacing, So I know which may fit the best. The All Terrains on my 02 chipped the rockers/doors pretty good too

Thanks,
Ray

Re: 15 x 8 slot wheels 6 Lug

15 x 7 American Racing Ansens. 4" backspace. American Racing had started making these again, I think it was about 8-10 years ago. They did a small run on 6 luggers and then stopped making them. I think they still make 5 luggers. I was lucky enough to find these on ebay, guy had them sitting in his garage for years in unopened boxes.

Re: 15 x 8 slot wheels 6 Lug

anything more than a 4" backspace will put the rim and tire to close to the tie-rods.

Watch some of the older vintage slots, I had a set of 15 x 7 Western slots that the inner part of the rim rubbed the caliper/caliper bracket.

Re: 15 x 8 slot wheels 6 Lug

I have 5" bs and at full lock to the right my tire hits the pitman arm one thing I did see that was going to happen. 4" would have been a real good number thats for sure..lol

Re: 15 x 8 slot wheels 6 Lug

Thanks for the info and pictures. I know 4 inches of backspace is a good number, I believe that is a what the truck rallies are. I had seen a few 15x8.5 slots, and one set was said to be 3 1/4 bs. I was thinking they would stick out too far.

LUCKTRUCK, nice find on yours.

Joe (joesjunk) is you truck lifted? I know the 33x12.5's will fit without lifting.

Thanks,
Ray

Re: 15 x 8 slot wheels 6 Lug

Everyone told me they would not fit well with out a lift, I lifted mine 2.5" and they clear great but I would think they would have been real close to rubbing stock.

I would bet Joes truck has a 4" lift on it, here is mine with the 2.5" lift
