This is how mine looks now. in your 4th pick that vaccum goes to the wireing harness for the trans lockup. the 3rd picture i belive is just your computer harness. thats all i can identify right now. just follow the wires and if the goto nothing then pull em

Hey Crackajacka,
What is that little box with the red wire running to it, on your firewall? I have that too with a BUNCH of wires hanging from it, what is SUPPOSED to be going to/from it?

ok the red wire running off to the passengerside runs over in front of the blower motor to a silver relay, which one wire runs to the blower motor then about 8 wires run from there back into the cab. then i think one of the drivers side cables runs back into the fuse block, and i think the other goes to the starter but im not sure about the ones on the drivers side ill look later on when im re wireing everything

Yep one of them goes from the ignition switch to the starter and I believe another runs up to the fusible link on the firewall.

If you are going to keep the 350C, you really need to keep the lockup, or change the converter. Not running the lockup in a 350C or 700R4 will burn it up in a hurry. That is my "voice of experience".

i was gonna get a newer torque conveter anyway. i'll need it with the cam i'm gonna have.

i was gonna get a 2800-3000 stall conveter.

so other than replacing the conveter, what else do i need to do to convert the th350c to a normal th350?

350C will live just fine without the lockup hooked up. when i was 16 my grandpa and i had my TH350C rebuilt, and the trans guy actually recomeneded that we leave it unhooked. that trans is still alive today and has about 85,000 miles on it since the rebuild.

Eric, since you're removing everything else but keeping the AC, you'll be doing exactly as i did. the wires you'll need will be for the starter alternator and the coil (obviously) as well as the AC compensator (mounted to the drivers side of the carb), coolant temp sensor in the drivers side head, and the AC compressor clutch. everything else can go away. you might also want to look into an alternate way to hook up your lockup if you intend on keeping it. there's got to be another way to do it that's much cleaner. make sure you hook up the vac line that runs into the firewall on the passenger side (mnifold vac) or your AC wont work right. other than that, everything can go

Eric, to convert a TH350C to a TH350, you need a TH350. they're two different animals. the TH350C has extra passages and switches in the valve body for converter lockup. also, the splines on the input shaft are different, so a TH350 converter wont work on a TH350C.

yes, if you're planning on running a TH350. if not, i'd leave it there and hook it back up.

ditch that too. you'll need to either run a standard HEI distributor, or modify your ESC distributor.

there is a plug spliced into it. that plug runs to the conveter lock up thing with the vacuum hose.

if i ditch the esc plug, the plug for the tranny lockup is gone too.

thats what i'm wondering about.

i dont care if the tranny doesnt lockup or not.

the ESC and trans lockup are 2 different systems. you should have another vac deal on the drivers side behind the booster. that one is for the TCC, the other one has to do with ESC.

your setup must be different than mine. mine was hooked into an almost identical piece on the drivers side behind the booster.
