This may be a little long winded

Removed my AC Compressor (Cut Belt Removed hoses and Compressor).... Power steering stopped working as well??? Bought a new pump , which after Researching Autozone pumps am fairly certain it is bad. Question comes in on the pulley I pressed my old pulley on the new pump and when I turn the wheel I get the screaming , no working power steering (Bad Pump Im assuming) and the pulley seems to move (Alot) and stick while it screams... Any ideas on wtf is going on? Think the pump is bad or did I eff something up?

Its a 77 GMC k1500 400SBC if it matters.

its possible it just needs the air bled out. fire it up fill it then turn it left right a few dozen times re check your fluid. if still no go then its a bad pump

You said you pressed the pulley on. Did you press the pulley on or pull it on with a threaded installer of some fashion ? If you literally applied pressure to the pulley until it slid onto the shaft and seated, I can see a problem.

Barring that, it's usually aerated fluid. Sometimes it even takes over night to get it to settle out regardless of how much you cycle the system.

I had it up on jack stands and moved the wheels back and forth a few times probably not a few dozen but enough for it to quit bubbling going to try another pump...Think I should I try to air it out some more before I remove it?.... Also installed the pulley using the appropriate tool (borrowed from Oreilys)

Think a bad pump would cause the pulley sticking and moving?

its possible if you went heat cycle and got most the air out let it sit over night if it still doesent work then I would suggest getting another pump.
